I totally agree. Breastfeeding a 6-year old son is just plain gross. I'm pro-breastfeeding mom, but I think 6-years old is too old for that. You can bond with your child in a lot of ways other than that when he's already old enough to go to school.

I'm not one to pass judgment so I'll refrain from name calling, etc., however I do believe that is a bit gross. I was talking to my 3-year-old daughter the other day and asking her if she remembers getting milk from mommy. She said yes and touched my chest on the side. It's not unusual for her to touch me, but she normally rubs the top of my chest that is exposed in a v-neck shirt. She asked me if I still had milk and I said no. She then said she wants to see/try for herself. I gently told her no and that she's a big girl. I weaned her a little over two years ago. I haven noticed that she still likes that position of nursing and comfort. I understand how the 6-year-old boy would want to continue that comfort and bond, but if I were his mother I would have weaned him long ago and replaced that time with taking a nap together, playing or reading together. Something that continued to nurture the relationship without him suckling at the breast. For me, 6 is to old. Should be up to 2 and maybe longer for preemies.

I've wondered the same thing for Aaron. He LOVES playing with the one that we have in the church nursery. His favorite piece is the chicken leg and the frying pan... go figure! Anyway, I think it's A-OK as long as it's not the girl-y kind. I like the grill that you picked out. I also know there are TONS of ideas on the web for creating your own. If you haven't given away everything you might be able to find some items to throw together add some paint and "hardware" and you can make a kitchen or a grill set. Just google "Diy Play Kitchen" of course most of them will look girl-y but you could add more masculine touches to it.

I have a son who is 6 almost 7 and has the same problem. I was laughing at all you said cause i was like is she raising my son as well. What do we do!!! I am so tired of buying pull-ups. I have a 3 yr as well and another on the way. I don't want three in diapers. I just kept thinking it was the not mature enought thing but if we can nail this in the behind I am all ears. I did get some of my house clean. ha! I've said for about two weeks now that I was going to start cleaning out my drawers, closet and just my whole room in general. Yea, I just started on that yesterday.

I'm currently reading The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. I recently graduated so I've been reading lots of books that pertain to my "desired" profession. Little did I know about a week before I got it I found out I was basically going to be laid off from my job. This book along with my Bible has helped me to realize that allowing myself to be offended or holding onto offenses is not healthy. It blocks blessings!"

LOL! Girl, I have a wooden spoon, one of the long ones. :o) I've used it a few times but it's not as bad as it sounds. I don't really like using that kind of punishment to discipline. But sometimes they just need a good swat. :o)
