I can remember singing Little Donkey when I was at primary school too. It used to make this little eight year old want to cry, and even though I'm now 30-ish, it still makes me want to cry. I think children's Christmas carols ought to have jolly sing-a-long tunes, "dum de dum de dum de dum, dum de dum de dummm dummm", ones like that.
